Camping regions

Bavaria - overwhelming mountains, splendid highlands, fairy-tale rivers and lakes as well as picturesque towns make it Germany's most popular holiday country.

As the ideal all-season holiday country in the heart of Europe, the Republic of Bavaria presents its four touristic regions Franconia, Eastern Bavaria, Allgäu/Bavarian Swabia and Upper Bavaria.

Bavaria isn't only known as the gate to Mediterranean Europe, but is also a piece of South itself. It's not surprising that Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is also called "the most northern city of Italy". It's always worth while to have a stop on one of Bavaria's campsites when you are on your way to another destination, as they are all within easy reach. But it would be best to stay here.

Unique in its diversity, Bavaria offers beautiful sceneries with healthy air and intact nature, cultural opulence known in the whole world and excellent sports facilities in all four seasons.

In two national parks and many wild life reserves you can relax actively or just enjoy the silence.

Living nature under Bavaria's famous white-blue sky plays an important part for campers. That means to have fun when you enjoy hiking through idyllic vineyards, solitary forests along the fascinating alp panorama or sleepy river or lake sceneries. Enjoy Bavaria?s "plus", as having a break here is particularly beautiful: cultural and culinary highlights, fantastic bath lakes, proper beer gardens and cosy wine-taverns.

Around the campsites, you can exercise many sportive activities. Horse-riding, golf or hiking are just some of the numerous examples. Thanks to a constantly growing cycle track net throughout Bavaria, cycling is a very popular way of locomotion both for guests and for local people.

No matter which campsite you choose, it will be an ideal starting point for excursions to the nearer and farther surroundings, e.g. to the world-famous castles of King Ludwig II (Neuschwanstein), residences and citadels. Above all, baroque and rococo can be found here in their highest perfection.

Bavaria is a world-famous country of theatres and museums and bears the imprint of art and culture. This is not only the case for Munich, the capital, and other big cities like Augsburg, Nuremberg and Regensburg, but also for many smaller towns in rural areas.

Festivities, music and living customs are part of Bavarian every-day culture. "Live and let live" is the motto of Bavarian sociability, and that's exactly what a camper longs for.
